Voorhees is a township located in Camden County, New Jersey, and has a population of just under 30,000 residents. The town got its name from the governor in 1899, Foster McGowan Voorhees, who filed the petition to make the town a separate entity. Up until the settlers created homesteads in the area, the original residents were the Lenni-Lenape Nation of the Algonquian People. He developed an open on wheels to deliver the soldiers fresh bread. The Coffin House is a historic site that served as a residence, store, post office, stagecoach stop, and commercial office building.
